Once the surface is prepared the moms are invited to utilize Murriera’s studio tucked in the wooded reaches of Kapahi. The studio is rich with essentials for the creative process. “The adornment becomes a meditation on pregnancy. This is a way of dropping into the experience of what is about to happen. You get to honor what that pregnancy means to you,” she said.
"I seldom had any trouble with the class after that. I did not need to ‘process’ their loss with them. I simply utilized the wisdom of the story to met us exactly where we were. The beauty and depth of metaphor was in action. It was as much alchemy for me as it was for them. I had been invited to be radical. I called in the healing spirit of the story. I felt in collaboration with the story and with myself in the deepest of ways."
